Han Solo's iconic blaster from Star Wars. This started off in life as an airsoft replica of the L96 'broomhandle' automatic Mauser pistol. After stripping the paint, I cleaned and polished the metal for the process of cold-chemical blueing. I sourced milled aluminum pieces for the bull barrel, flash-hider and the scope mount, while the scope itself is a brand (but not model) and era correct WWII era scope. The plastic grips were replaced by hickory replicas that were stripped, refinished and weathered. A variety of opaque and transparent paints were used to even out the finish and give the look of an older used, but well maintained firearm as would be consistent for something a smuggler and scoundrel might have to rely upon for his life.
This also started off as an airsoft replica of a Sterling submachinegun. The scope and left-side counter mounts were hand-crafted from aluminum strips. The scope is a resin replica while the coolers (originally sliding door t-tracks on the original prop) are tines from a Home Depot garden rake. The whole thing was stripped and refinished using a combination of chemical bluing and paint.
This is a resin model of the 'Zat Gun' from the TV series Stargate SG-1. In addition to the standard issues of finishing a resin model, such as filling holes and general surfacing, I clarified and in places etched greater surface detail before painting and weathering.

I also build props using parts sourced from the internet, as well as custom piece sculpts. Includes painting, weathering and metal bluing.
